Welcome to Harrop Fold

At Harrop Fold, we are committed to making the difference for all our young people.  Our aim is to produce well-rounded young people who are prepared for our ever-changing world. We do this by focusing on the Personal, Social and Academic aspects of education, which will drive our young people to reach their potential and achieve true excellence.

Parents/Carers

At Harrop Fold we value very highly the partnership between home and school. We are fortunate to have great support from these important stakeholders and have an open door policy if visitors would like to take a tour of the school during the working day or after school hours.

We use a number system to record Attitudes to Learning (AtL) and this supports our Standards drive to constantly improve school uniform and the essential equipment of pen, pencil, ruler, planner and school bag which should be brought in every day.

Our approach is centred on our ‘Team Harrop’ ethos, as cited in our most recent Ofsted Inspection. Please click on the links above to find more detailed information.

Progress Evenings are as follows this year:

Year 11 20th October

Year 10 16th February

Year 9 2nd March

Year 8 9th March

Year 7 28th June

Progress Surgeries are as follows:

1st December – Years 7-11

16th February – Year 11

These surgeries are for targeted students but any Parent or Carer can attend if you have any concerns or require further information on your child’s progress. Year 7 parents are welcome to attend this too if you would like to know how your child has settled.

By providing these Progress Surgeries Year 11 parents have 3 opportunities to attend Parents’ Evenings throughout the year; all other years have 2.

Each year group (Year 7-10) receives 3 reports a year and Y11 receive 4. The reports indicate whether students are on track or not.

Parents and Carers are welcome to ask for personal meetings with staff if there are other concerns at any time of the year.
