The careers strategy at Harrop Fold School follows The Gatsby Benchmarks. This is a framework of 8 benchmarks that schools can use to improve the career guidance system. These benchmarks are;
* A stable careers programme
* Learning from local career market information
* Addressing individual need
* Linking curriculum learning to careers
* A range of encounters with employers and employees
* Experiences of workplaces
* Encounters with further and higher education
* Independent personal guidance
We have good relationships with a number of employers (eg Morson International, BDO Accountancy, and Kenny Waste Management) and hope to build on this network. Please contact Mr Ince if you are interested in bringing the real world alive!

Impartial Advice

Impartial Careers guidance is provided by Careers Connect and Salford Foundation from Year 8 onwards. Additionally, Harrop Fold School provides a range of activities and experiences that give our students a full understanding of opportunities post 16.

How do we evaluate careers education at Harrop Fold?

1. Harrop Fold will complete the Gatsby 8 point guidance compass tool termly

2. Student evaluation will take place at the start and end of each academic year and Harrop Fold will closely monitor student feedback and the impact of provision.
